Setting up Hubspot for live chat
Find out how to integrate Hubspot for live chat support
HubSpot is a CRM platform with all the software, integrations, and resources you need to connect marketing, sales, content management, and customer service that offers a convenient live chat widget for users to implement on their site.
In order to integrate Hubspot as a live chat contact provider you need to provide a Widget Id
.
Locating the Widget Id
- First, log into your Hubspot account
- Before you can create a live chat, connect a chat channel to the conversations inbox. The chat channel is where you can customize your team's availability and the appearance of the widget.
- In your HubSpot account, navigate to Conversations > Chatflows.
- In the upper right, click Create chatflow.
- Select Website.
- In the left sidebar, select the live chat option.
- Once you’re happy with your custom widget configuration, it’s time to install the live chat widget in HelpKit
- To locate your unique widget id, we need to look at the tracking code snippet.
- You can find your installation snippet under Tools > Inbox > Inboxes
10. Locate and copy just the Widget Id
without the .js appendix - just the number.
11. In the HelpKit dashboard go to Settings/Integrations/Contact Integration
12. Select Hubspot
13. Enter the code in the Widget Id
field
14. Optionally, you can also change the Region
of your widget
15. Hit save
16. Tada 🥳
