What are site analytics insights?

Learn about how to gain insight into your knowledge base usage

HelpKit insights are a great way to understand how your customers are using your knowledge base so that you can learn from it and improve your articles.

What are HelpKit site analytics insights?

📊 Site analytics gives you access to your site’s analytics so you can track page views, most popular articles and more.

You can find the two new pages in the HelpKit dashboard by navigating to the new Insights tab in the top menu bar.

At the moment site analytics will provide you with the following data:

  • Page Views
  • Unique Visitors
  • Top Articles
  • Top Countries
  • Top Devices
  • Top Referrers

All of these fields can be viewed on the following timeframe:

  • Last 24 hours
  • Last 7 days
  • Last 30 days
  • Last 90 days
  • This year

Additionally you can also define your preferred timezone.

Refresh to get live data

For performance reasons HelpKit currently caches your knowledge base stats once a day. That means that you will not automatically see live new updates once you refresh the browser. To get live new updates simply press the 🔁 Refresh button on the top right corner.

Limitations

Please not that at the moment HelpKit can only track your site insights from visitors visiting your knowledge base site directly and not via the embeddable widget. We are working on a solution to incorporate widget views to the insights in the future as well.

Please note that this insight feature is currently work-in-progress and we highly appreciate any feedback!
